Daughter – a poem

Daughter. How can I prove that nothing

is out to get you?

That the earth wishes to embrace you

with every footstep you take;

holiness kissing holiness?

They say courage is fear that has said its

prayers.

But there are a thousand ways to pray.

So go, spill yourself out into the sky,

stars and seas.

They are waiting to walk you home.
